We’ve said it before – nobody does romance like The Beach Boys. If you’re reading this, it should be no surprise that the group that created “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” “Don’t Worry Baby,” “Forever,” “The Warmth Of The Sun” “Kiss Me Baby,” “Cuddle Up,” and “God Only Knows,” just might have cornered the market on music for Valentine’s Day.
Over the course of their astonishing career, The Beach Boys have arguably created a clutch of the greatest love songs in modern history. And not just about joyous new love – but all four seasons of love; from first bloom to flowing — from the reflective and grateful to the memorial. The music of The Beach Boys, especially their love songs and ballads, sits comfortably alongside those of such fellow legends as Cole Porter, Rogers & Hart, Lennon & McCartney, Holland, Dozier & Holland, Smokey Robinson – and so many others who also served as the group’s greatest inspirations.
This is music that makes your emotions run both faster and slower — but also more deeply as the years go by.
Above all else, The Beach Boys will always be “heart” music.
HEART MUSIC – THE BEACH LOVE SONGS
LOVE & MERCY
Once again, we mourn the loss of a major part of the Beach Boys family, with the recent passing of Melinda Wilson – Brian’s wife and key inspiration for nearly three decades.
As Brian eloquently posted about her:
Melinda was more than my wife. She was my savior.
She gave me the emotional security I needed to have a career.
She encouraged me to make the music that was closest to my heart.
She was my anchor. She was everything for us.
From everyone at TheBeachBoys.com and beyond we send our love and condolences to Brian, Daria, Delanie, Dylan, Dash and Dakota.
Love and Mercy.
